Many of us feel we could benefit from meditation, but can’t seem to find the patience or time to do it. This is the place for you. Once a week, take some time during your lunch break to work on improving you. Meditation has countless known benefits including:

  •    improved brain function & cognitive skills

  •    increased ability to deal with and manage stress

  •    ease in navigating difficult situations

  •    decreased mood swings

  •    heightened immunity

 

In this class, we will explore different types of meditation, from visualiztions to simple movements, to help you quiet your monkey mind. Drop-in/no registration necessary. All levels of experience are welcome.

Pilates Reformer/Equipment Class: Semi-Private Session

MONDAYS*: 9:45a-10:45a

DeWild Pilates Studio, Santa Barbara

 

This core strengthening full-body workout takes place in small groups of 3 or 4. All types of Pilates equipment are used including the reformer, cadillac, and spine corrector. This is a supervised independent workout, so ample experience is necessary, If you are interested in joining the class, please e-mail Astrid Dewild, or call (805)564-3454

Moving from Center: A Three Part Series

Retrain your body’s chronic movement patterns to decrease pain and increase overall health and well being from the inside out.

This work is like pressing the "re-set button" for your movement patterns. Elements from pilates, qi gong, gyrotonic, dance, meditation, and ordinary life come together to help you move more easily through life. Skills learned in this course can be easily applied to your current movement or teaching practice, and well as enhance work with clients, and work with yourself. The course is designed for all levels of movers from novice to professional.

Somatic Meridian Therapy for the Womb:
Post-Partum Recovery and Women's Health

The womb is a sacred space in the body that requires specific nurturing and nourishment.  While the main focus of this course is on post-partum recovery of the womb, this work is completely applicable to women of all ages from childbearing age to post-menopausal. Through both physical and energetic movement, this course will go in-depth in learning to access the muscles and meridians that contain the womb and pelvic floor. Students will learn to access the body from the inside out. They will learn specific exercises, breathing techniques, and meditations to access, strengthen, and heal the womb. Specific ailments that will be addressed include pelvic floor rehabilitation (far beyond just "the kegel muscle"), post-partum diastasis, lower abdominal insufficiency, and urinary incontinence.
